Eastport will welcome visitors to its second Home and Garden Tour, to be held on the afternoon of Sunday, June 10 from1-5 p.m. There will be nine homes and/or gardens on the tour chosen toreflect the unique mix of architectural styles found in Eastport aswell as to recognize the individuality and maritime culture of thisspecial neighborhood. This year, the houses will be centered in theBoucher/Washington/Bay Ridge/Adams/Lockwood Court area west of 6thStreet. A new feature for this year’s tour is the display oftwo different types of rain barrels: an infiltration rain barrel systemand the more familiar cistern rain barrel.Eastport artistsRosemary Freitas Williams and Patsy Helmetag have again designed astriking poster for the tour that will be displayed in selectedlocations around town in early May. Rosemary is providing a houseportrait drawing of each home on the tour for the program as she didlast year. Rosemary Freitas Williams’ website is www.watercolorsbyrosemary.com. Works by Rosemary and Patsy will be on sale at Sarles Marina the day of the tour.

Tickets will be available in mid-May at, Ahh Coffee!, CaféGuru, Eastport Prudential Carruthers Realtors, Fawcett Boat Suppliesand Windwood Gardens. Ticket prices are $20 in advance and $25the day of the tour (no children under 12, please, and no spike heels).On the day of the tour, tickets may be purchased at the informationtable at Sarles’ Boatyard and Marina on Spa Creek. Ticket sales will belimited.

The Eastport Civic Association sponsors this annual event to furtherits mission of safeguarding the residential and maritime quality ofEastport and engaging in activities that promote, improve, and protectthe civic interest and well being of the community. Proceeds from thetour benefit local charities and community improvement projects.
